Eckerd Community Alternatives
Lead Agency for Child Welfare in Pasco and Pinellas Counties

A Collaborative System of Community-Based Care

Eckerd Community Alternatives (ECA) is the Lead Agency for child welfare in Pasco and Pinellas counties. Governed by a Community-Based Services Board, Eckerd Community Alternatives has developed an integrated and collaborative system of care that assures the safety, well-being, and permanency of children, while also strengthening families through front-end prevention programs and aftercare supports.

Working together with a collaborative network of strategic partners, child advocates and other community resources, Eckerd Community Alternatives is committed to improving the quality of services for children and families in Pinellas and Pasco counties.

Special Features:

Emphasis on Collaboration and Communication: Partnerships and collaboration with community organizations to provide better outcomes for children and families.

Strong Utilization Management: Providing the right help at the right time for each child  not only results in better use of state funds, but also in better outcomes for children and families.

Prevention: Children shouldn’t have to be harmed in order to receive help. By providing training and support to at-risk families, we aim to prevent them from entering the child welfare system.

Training: Providing in-service training for case management staff, foster parents and other caregivers to equip them with enhanced levels of knowledge and skills.

Outcome-Oriented: Dedicated to quantifying and tracking well-being, satisfaction and performance outcomes and processes of our system of care.
