Eckerd Youth Alternatives Expands Its Team

Clearwater, Fla. – Eckerd Youth Alternatives (EYA), one of the nation’s leading providers of services for at-risk and troubled youth, is pleased to announce that Linda Jewell Morgan has joined its leadership as Senior Vice President of Planning and Community Development.

In this role, Morgan will direct new business development and planning, along with marketing and admissions activities related to private referrals. Morgan will also take the lead in guiding the development of community partnerships and agency and government relations. Her broad industry knowledge and relevant professional relationships will also support EYA’s efforts in serving more than 9,000 youth each year.

“We are eager to have Linda join our team of professionals,” stated Karen V. Waddell, EYA’s President and CEO. “Linda brings rich experience that will propel the organization to even higher levels of success.”

Morgan contributes her marketing, mentorship and business background across more than 30 years in child welfare. Her exceptional career began at the Washington State Division of Children and Family Services and, for the past 10 years, she has worked directly with the Child Welfare League of America in various roles as the Director of Program Development, the Director of Consultation and the Director of National Projects.

Morgan has authored two publications: “Making Children a National Priority: A Framework for Community Action” and a related “Community Implementation Guide” that define comprehensive, community-based strategies to improve the well-being of children nationwide. She holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Maryland and a master’s degree in social work from the University of Washington.

“I am very excited about this opportunity,” says Morgan. “EYA employs talented staff and an effective practice model that together provide at-risk youth the skills and opportunities they need to succeed.”
