Eckerd: The First Name in Second Chances
Welcome to Eckerd – one of the largest privately funded nonprofit youth & family service organizations in the United States and a national leader that has given much needed second chances to more than 150,000 children since 1968. Founded by Jack and Ruth Eckerd, our organization provides a full continuum of life changing behavioral health, juvenile justice and child welfare services to nearly 15,000 children and families annually in seven states.
Eckerd is driven by its mission to “provide and share solutions that promote the well-being of children and families in need of a second chance”. As a provider, Eckerd’s focus is on providing cost effective, data driven, family focused services that meet our funder’s expectation for outcomes. Eckerd programming not only focuses on quality today, but innovation for tomorrow. To that end, Eckerd learns from its current programs, lessons that help to improve services to clients today and to shape solutions for tomorrow.
Built on a bedrock of solution oriented programs that are continuously improving quality for today and evolving to meet tomorrow’s needs, Eckerd assists both public and private organizations through the sharing of best practices and advocacy for system reform. Eckerd is currently involved with several states on ways to improve outcomes through innovative quality management approaches, effective performance based contracting strategies, and enhanced public private partnerships.
Through our breadth and depth of services, commitment to performance measurement and quality outcomes, and 45+ year history of success, Eckerd has become known as “the first name in second chances”
