Tampa, FL (July 23, 2012) – In partnership with the Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce, Eckerd Community Alternatives | Hillsborough invites community partners, stakeholders and citizens to attend an Open House and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at The Family Place, 9391 North Florida Avenue, Tampa, FL 33612.
On July 1st and following a six-month transition period, Eckerd assumed the Community-Based Care Lead Agency contract from the Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) to manage child welfare and foster care services in Hillsborough County. Each day, Eckerd is responsible for the safety, well-being and permanency of over 2,900 Hillsborough children and their families involved in the local child dependency system.
Eckerd Community Alternatives Executive Director Lorita Shirley and DCF SunCoast Regional Director Mike Carroll are scheduled to give brief remarks at 4:00 pm, followed by a ribbon cutting ceremony in partnership with the Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce. Program tours and light refreshments will be offered, and the event is free and open to the public.
