Eckerd Raising Hope | Ways to Give Hope

Since Eckerd Raising Hope does not rely on government (public) funds, community support is vital to sustaining and growing our efforts.  To achieve our mission, we are building an army of community volunteers and supporters known as “Hope Raisers” who volunteer their time, donate goods and services, or make monetary contributions.   Eckerd Raising Hope is designed to not only benefit children and families who will be strengthened and supported by these resources, but also the greater community who will benefit from volunteerism, community service, economic development opportunities, and the greater social good.

Volunteer
Caring individuals are needed to volunteer in our ROOMS OF HOPE to assist children and their case workers in picking out the items they needed.  Volunteers are also needed to help sort through donations, stock shelves, shop for much-needed items, take inventory, and, of course, to spread hope!

Organize Drives
Schools, churches, civic groups, businesses and individuals are needed to organize resource drives in order to collect new and gently-used clothing, as well as other much-needed new items from our wish list.  We encourage you to get creative with your drives.  Some themed-inspired drives that have benefitted Eckerd Raising Hope include:

• One private school organized as “Jeans for Jeans Day” where students who normally wore uniforms were allowed to wear jeans if they brought a new pair of jeans for a child or teen.
• One group of ladies who had been friends for years organized a Pajama Party where they gathered in their favorite, comfy PJs, enjoyed great food and conversation –and collected new PJs for children.
• One company hosted a Baby Shower where their employees brought gifts for the ROOMS OF HOPE.

Fundraise
We also need individuals, companies and groups to organize fundraisers to benefit Eckerd Raising Hope.   Supporters have held car washes, organized golf tournaments, hosted house parties and pledged their birthdays and other special milestones….all to help RAISE HOPE for foster children!  Some have even contacted us to find out what is most needed at the time, then taken the funds and gone shopping for these items to help stock our rooms!

Donate Items
