Palmetto Youth Connections helps students get on the road to success

Breann Combs, 17, was struggling going to school as a single mom while in the foster care system in the South Carolina upstate.

When she moved to Sumter in June, with assistance from the South Carolina Department of Social Services, she was offered the option of going through the Palmetto Youth Connections program while earning a GED certificate at Sumter County Adult Education.

Palmetto Youth Connections is designed to educate, train and support youth as they prepare to enter the workforce, according to the program’s website, www.palmettoyouth.com.
