Thank you to the entire Fox 13 team for a week of heart-touching stories in honor of Foster Care Awareness Month.
Since July 2016, more than one hundred participants have passed through the Money Works workshop series. Before wrapping up in March, the series ran on a monthly basis, and addressed issues like budgeting, financial planning and homeownership.
April is National Child Abuse Prevention month. In Florida, state and local leaders are urging the community to renew a joint commitment to our state’s youngest and most vulnerable.
Foster mom Kimberly Hernandez will begin sharing her message with listeners on The Dove-WDUV and JOY-FM in April.
Today, I have my own home, my family is happy and I am becoming more stable every day. I have help, but I also have more than that. I have support and someone to encourage me along the way, guiding me and giving me the advice I need to stay independent and self-sufficient.
I think the enthusiasm of the youths and their coaches has been very unique, it allows us to help groom them for our company or even a further career elsewhere.
At first I knew that I wasn’t going to lose anything by enrolling in the program, but I didn’t have an idea on how much I was going to earn at the end.
Tori's life has been turbulence since a young age, but through Eckerd Kids | Project Bridge, she has received a second chance to complete her GED and setting the course toward a career field in culinary arts.
