Founded in 1975, CARING for Children was originally based on a community need to provide emergency shelter care to children who had been removed from their homes by the local Department of Social Services due to abuse and neglect. Over four decades later, CARING for Children has evolved into an organization with diverse programs and services that meet the needs of more than 1,800 children and families annually.
In August 2014, Eckerd Kids announced its affiliation with CARING for Children. This partnership will enable both organizations to expand and provide high-quality services to vulnerable children and their families across North Carolina.
