Project Bridge Hosts First 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament to Connect Youth

Project Bridge—a program that provides transitional services to young people reintegrating back to their homes from juvenile justice programs—partnered with JLM Records to host its first 3-on-3 basketball tournament. Lakeland’s Simpson Park Community Center was the site for the event, and there are plans to rotate the location as they organize future tournaments.

An innovative partnership between Home Builders Institute and Eckerd Kids Project Bridge assists youth who are at risk of failing in major tasks necessary to assure a productive life.

WTSO | 10 News – Today it was all about supporting our youth in the Bay area so we took a ride out to the Clearwater Marine Aquarium to chat with David Yates – CEO of Clearwater Marine Aquarium, Curtis Campogni – Program Manager for Eckerd/Project Bridge, and Shamar Johnson, a young man actively enrolled in the Bridge Program.

Eckerd Kids Project Bridge, Home Builder’s Institute, The Mission Continues, Soldiers Freedom Outdoors and Guardian Angels partnered to create a weekend of service in support organizations that serve veterans and active military. The event was held in memory of the 15th anniversary of the tragic events that took place on September 11, 2001.
