Day Treatment Programs

Eckerd Youth Alternatives (EYA) is a leading provider of day treatment and residential therapeutic programs for delinquent youth contracted through the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice.

The Eckerd Leadership Program in Ft. Pierce, FL, provides intensive day treatment and accredited education for male and female youth, 12 – 17, primarily committed through juvenile courts, although not all youth are adjudicated.

Eckerd’s Day Treatment approach is unique in its extensive use of the group process and the positive, trusting relationship counselors establish with youth.

Eckerd Leadership Program’s van service transports area youth to the program in the morning and returns them to their individual communities in the evening. While in the program, youth attend school at the Center, receive services for special needs, and work to complete any Court sanctions. Eckerd Leadership Program also emphasizes self-esteem building, family counseling, peer group process and education to promote positive social change.
