For more than 30 years, Eckerd has been a leading provider of youth residential treatment for court-ordered delinquent youth, under contract through the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice. Eckerd’s juvenile justice residential facility in Brooksville, Florida is a 60-bed residential facility that provides strength-based, non-punitive comprehensive treatment for court-ordered delinquent boys ages 13 to 19 who exhibit mental health, behavioral health and substance abuse issues.
This intensive residential therapeutic services makes extensive use of the group process to address the youths’ behavioral challenges and features choice theory, reality therapy, anger management and conflict resolution training. Youth receive accredited education on-site and work together in small group settings with assigned counselors and mental health professionals.
